1977 Suzuki RM125 FOR SALE

1977 Ward FMF MotoCross

Suzuki RM 125 B

— Package Racer —

OK guys here’s the deal on this bike. I bought this bike IN PIECES from a person in SoCal who had purchased this parts lot from DONNIE EMLER. This bike has it’s original: FMF porcupine head, FM/Ward scribed and ported cylinder, FMF coned pipe & silencer, FMF pro fab alum. swingarm, FMF tall seat w/original vinyl & markings, original aluminum tank with all ORIGINAL STICKERS, rebuilt vintage Works Performance TRIPLE STAGE finned shocks, vintage chromoly bars, new Oury grips, orig. MotoTek CDI., widened FMF spec. SUN RIMS laced to orig hubs, FMF spec. Yokohama knobbies, original vintage transluscent side panels and front number plate (& they’re not cracked!), tricked out airbox, Preston Petty ‘Tony D’ front fender, NOS fork skins, etc.

Bottom fin of cylinder on underside is scribed ‘For Ward’ into it. Emler stated that this was all from Wards bike. I left all of the original stickers on tank & fenders so you can see what it started out as. Nothing reproduction here, it’s all original. THIS BIKE HAS RECEIVED A 100% COSMETIC AND MECHANICAL RESTO TO AS RACED CONDITION USING ANY AND ALL ORIGINAL PIECES THAT I HAD.

Swingarm has provisions to convert from full floating rear brake to semi-floating depending on track and rider requirements

Also came with a ‘one-of-a kind’ works Moto-X FOX aluminum silencer. The Fox head image is PRESSED into the aluminum. In 35 years I have never seen another one and this one is in perfect condition. ‘Mongo trick’ to say the least.

When I received bike it had a totaled out Pro-Tec chain tensioner that was beyond repair, so I sourced out a new NOS unit NOT SHOWN IN PHOTOS that is INCLUDED with the bike.

Forks rebuilt and damping rods appear to have been ‘worked’. Carb rebuilt. Clutch rebuilt. Motor rebuilt on first over w/ all new seals & bearings. Transmission fully rebuilt. Awesome port job in cylinder—bike is a true rocketship—this thing flies. Wheels – swingarm – steering bearings all new and rebuilt.

This is a super rare bike that was VERY EXPENSIVE back in the day and any famous rider heritage is just a bonus. For all I know those are Jeff Wards knees that rubbed off the paint on either side of that tank. One small ding on right side of tank otherwise it is in really great shape considering it’s race usage.

Next to a true RA works Suzuki this may be the trickest vintage 125 in existence. This would be a fantastic addition to anyone’s collection. PRICE IS FIRM ON THIS BIKE—SORRY NO OFFERS CONSIDERED.
