1982 Brad Lackey RN 500 WORKS REPLICA Suzuki RM500 FOR SALE

1984 Suzuki RM500E

Replica 1982 Brad Lackey World Championship winning bike

This was an excellent condition ’84 500E that I had professionally built to replicate as closely as possible Bad Brad’s ’82 world championship winning bike. Bike was restored by Todd Ballard in Roseville, CA. When Todd was building this bike for me Brad Lackey came over to inspect it. His comments were “I only wish my works motors from Japan in ’82 WERE AS TRICK AS THIS ONE”.

I also chose the blue/yellow ’84 colors simply because I prefer them over the black/yellow ’82 look. Also, all pieces like the cylinder, head, swingarm, and various other aluminum bits were POLISHED to a show shine.

In addition to the usual powdercoating and rebuilding of everything during a normal 100% resto, this bike has the following;

BRAND NEW – NEVER USED:

DG pipe and silencer

Ohlins reservoir shock

fiberglass vintage Twin Air single sided airbox & filter element

+++++custom fabricated BILLET ALUMINUM crank & rod. Bottom end inspected and refurbished as needed. New clutch & lightened custom made BILLET alum. clutch basket. Cylinder ported & head machined to replicate ’82 works top end. NOS SUZUKI OEM piston & rings (not Wiseco)+++

Simons UDX-60 forks custom fabb’ed and machined for RM install. These forks are as good as everyone says, and definitely worth the $3000+ that they usually fetch on ebay just by themselves. It’s no wonder why Brad insisted on using them on his works bikes back in ’82. Remember how pissed off his bosses at U.S. Suzuki and in Japan got when he insisted on using these instead of the ‘works’ KYB units? Ride a bike with these forks for 5 minutes, and then you’ll understand.

Perfect vintage Lackey replica seat & cover

All plastic (except tank) including P.P. Tony D front

Michelin tires

Gold DID chain and sprockets.

Professionally restored plastic tank internally sealed, primed-painted, NOS decals applied and then cleared/sealed—I have had gas in this tank for years and there is NO bubbling of paint or lift off. When viewed in person, most people ask me if it is painted aluminum because it looks THAT good.

Of course all tires, tubes, wheels – swingarm – steering, brakes, motor internals-seals-bearings are all new. This is now basically a (better than) works RN500 motor.

Zero hours since resto. Built to race but I would say that it is far too nice for that now.
